Summary of contents – Lesson 23

 

1-     An introduction to nouns. How they are used with definite and indefinite articles (a and the in English), and the importance of gender.

2-     A look at different types of nouns.

3-     Looking at how it may be possible to identify whether a noun is masculine by the way the ending of the noun is spelt.

4-     Looking at how it may be possible to identify whether a noun is feminine by the way the ending of the noun is spelt.

 

 

Aims of the lesson

 

1-     An appreciation of how all Spanish nouns are either masculine or feminine and understanding the importance that the gender of a noun has on other words they might be used with such as articles and adjectives.

2-     Having a basic understanding of how articles are used with nouns of different genders.

3-     Being able to better identify whether a noun is masculine or feminine by remembering what the endings of some nouns tell us about gender.

4-     Appreciating the importance of remembering whether a noun is masculine or feminine and not just remembering the noun itself.
