 Intonation
Intonation refers to the way the voice goes up or down (varies in pitch), when we are speaking. In the Spanish language intonation is different depending on whether sentences are spoken as statements or questions.

Intonation is important because it can often change the meaning of what is being spoken.
statements - end with falling pitch
yes or no questions - end with rising pitch
non yes or no questions - end with falling pitch
multiple questions - rising pitch with each question
except the last one.
